OGA – Events for Term II
Dear Loyal Old Girl,
Once again it is time for us to keep you posted of events/news for the 2nd Term in our OGA Calendar.
The most exciting news for this term is our Picnic!! So, get ready, and inform all your friends and let’s all go on the “highway” to Taprospa (located near Confifi in Beruwala, with a lovely swimming pool/large garden etc. A sumptuous buffet awaits you. Games, swimming (with proper swim wear), singing, dancing and lots of laughter and fellowship is the main reason for this picnic. Here are the details:-
- Date: Saturday 9th June 2012. Leaving College premises at 8.00 a.m. Sharp!
- Venue: “Taprospa” (located near Confifi in Beruwala and owned by Mackwoods).
- Cost per head – Rs2000/= (inclusive of transport, welcome drink, lunch & evening Tea)
- Entertainment
- Please make payment to the College Office (8 am – 1 pm) or to anyone listed below ON OR BEFORE 31st May 2012, as we have to finalize numbers to the Hotel + transport.(pay in slip is at the bottom)

Choir Performance: The choir of Methodist College Colombo is to hold a performance, “Canto Vivace”, on Thursday, 28th June 2012 at 7:30 pm at the Lionel Wendt Theatre. This choir competed in the 1st Vietnam International Choir competition held in Hoi An, Vietnam last March and was awarded a Gold Diploma in the youth equal voices category and a Silver medal in the sacred open category. This year they have been invited by Interkultur, the main organizers of all choir competitions in the world, to compete in the 1st Xinghai Prize Choir Championships in Guanzhou, China. This is the only School choir in the region to have been invited. The Choir Director is Sanjeev Jayaratnam, leader of the Revelations.
Guest performances at this concert will be by the MC OGA Choir, known as “METHO CANTANTI” conducted by Anagi Perera (nee Jayasinghe) and “Asteria”, (a choir comprising past pupils of Methodist College) directed by Mahen Peiris,.
