Islamic Society
The Islamic Society meets on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of each month.
Various case studies and quizzes, which help the members to grow in the knowledge of the Koran are held at these meetings. Special prayers are held on different occasions like the Prophet’s Birthday, while the students take part actively in various competitions organized within and outside the school.
Annual competitions are held in school, to increase the students’ interests.
The Islamic Society also held its annual Ifthar on the 15th of August 2011. The programme commenced at 4P.M. The two Guest Speakers were Hafil Ehsan Iqbal Patel and Aalima Fayaza who gave inspirational speeches in English and Tamil respectively. Around 17 students and some teachers of Nabaviya institute were also felicitated. The interaction with these students and the students of Methodist College proved very useful! This event turned out to be very successful with the participation of several Muslim students from grade 6 upwards and past committee members.
