Old Girl Awarded 2009 Gratiaen Prize

Prashani Rambukwella, an old girl of the school was awarded the 2009 Gratiaen Prize for her novel Mythil’s Secret on Saturday the 8th of May 2010. Out of the list of nominees, her book was the only children’s novel as well as the only one that belonged to the fantasy genre. She graduated from the University of Peradeniya with a BA in English Literature and is a very experienced playwright and director.

Saving Cows From Slaughter

In the course of this year, students have collected cash to save two cows from slaughter. These pics were taken at the Buddhist Centre, Wataruppola Road, Mt. Lavinia on the 29th of March 2010 where the cows were freed.
